As he's roughly halfway through his one-year jail sentence, Lil Wayne is likely to be released from prison on November 4, according to MTV News.
If he doesn't get in trouble during his time inside, then he'll be allowed out eight months after having entered prison on March 8.
Despite being locked up Lil Wayne's prescence has still be felt on the music scene. Rapper Drake, his protégé's album 'Thank Me Later' hit the number one spot on the charts.
Drake visited Lil Wayne at Riker's Island in June and told MTV News about his visit.
He said: "He kept looking to the window. He'd look up at the window almost like he's looking right through it. It's frosted, so you can't see out. I was like, 'Why does he keep staring through the window? There's nothing out there.' To him, there's a whole world moving out there that he hasn't seen for so long."
No doubt Lil Wayne's been working on some material - who's going to be getting his next album!?
